At Stichting Hunto, we believe that small acts of kindness can have a powerful impact—especially when they are grounded in empathy, respect, and solidarity. That belief was beautifully brought to life during a recent visit from the Women’s Club of Aruba to our Centro Colorado location.
As part of their heartfelt project title “Un tas empodera, yena cu forsa y sosten. Bo ta balioso, bo ta stima”
(A bag empowered, filled with strength and support. You are valuable. You are loved), the Women’s Club of Aruba prepared and delivered special gift bags for the women in our care.
These carefully curated bags were filled with essential items that every woman might need—personal hygiene products, daily necessities, and comforting touches. Each bag also included a beautifully designed message that served as a gentle reminder of the strength and worth each woman carries within her. More than just a donation, the gesture was a moment of empowerment, dignity, and encouragement.
Representing the Women’s Club were President Reina Geerman, Vice President Roxanne Vieira, and several dedicated members, all of whom took the time to connect with our team and clients. Their visit was marked by warm smiles, meaningful conversations, and genuine compassion. The atmosphere was one of mutual respect and hope—a shared belief in the power of community and second chances.
For many of our clients, who are walking brave and often challenging paths through addiction recovery and mental health treatment, moments like these can be deeply moving. The bags symbolized more than support; they symbolized that there are people in the community who care, who see them, and who believe in their ability to rise and thrive.
At Stichting Hunto, our work is grounded in providing not only clinical care but also emotional and social support. We know that healing happens in community, and we are incredibly grateful for partners like the Women’s Club of Aruba who walk alongside us in this mission.
We thank the Women’s Club of Aruba for their generosity, compassion, and for reminding our clients that they are not alone—and that their value is never in question.
Together, we are building a stronger, more inclusive Aruba—one act of kindness at a time.
