Stichting Hunto proudly announces the successful completion of Phase 1 renovations of its Day Shelter at Meiveld, marking a significant milestone in the organization’s mission to provide accessible support for individuals facing mental health and addiction challenges.
The soft opening ceremony, held earlier this week, was an inspiring event attended by key stakeholders and supporters. The ceremony was officiated by Minister Rocco Tjon, who inaugurated the facility. Representatives from Wind Creek Aruba, CEDE Aruba, and Super Food Plaza joined in the celebration, each cutting the ribbon for rooms dedicated in their honor.
These spaces were made possible through generous contributions from the Long Table Event 2024 and the Super Food Cares Program, highlighting the importance of collaborative community efforts in addressing societal challenges. Stichting Hunto extends heartfelt gratitude to these partners for their unwavering support.
The event also recognized two exceptional colleagues, Sirma Ras and Jose “Wachi” Geerman, whose dedication to the clients at the Day Shelter has left an indelible mark. Although they have recently embarked on new ventures, their contributions continue to inspire the organization’s work.
With the completion of Phase 1, Stichting Hunto is now gearing up for Phase 2 renovations, which aim to further enhance the Day Shelter as a welcoming and supportive space. This facility plays a crucial role in encouraging clients to take the important step towards rehabilitation at Centro Colorado, the organization’s flagship program.
“Stichting Hunto is deeply committed to creating an environment where our clients feel valued and supported,” said a spokesperson for the organization. “This accomplishment is a testament to what can be achieved when the community comes together for a shared purpose.”
